Schedule Your Recital and Rehearsal(s)

Go to the Room Request page to schedule your recital.

Scheduling

Beginning on April 30 of each year, Degree recitals for the entire following academic year may be scheduled. Non-degree recitals can be scheduled for the following academic year beginning June 1.

The date you choose MUST work for

  • Your Studio Teacher
  • Your Accompanist
  • AND be available on the department calendar.

Requests are granted on a first-come, first served basis. If your choice of date is important to you, book early!

Recitals may be scheduled during the academic year only at the following times:

  • Saturdays at 12:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
  • Sundays at 3:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
  • Weekdays at 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Non-degree Recitals absolutely may not be held in the last three weeks of a semester, and the Department recommends that all recitals should be held outside of the last three weeks of the semester, if possible. The last three weeks of each semester are already very heavily scheduled with department performances making it difficult to schedule rehearsal times.

Before submitting your date request, kindly check the Music Department calendar on 25Live Pro to determine availability. Recitals may not conflict with any other Music Department event and, even if a venue appears to be available, checking the Public Calendar may indicate a conflict because of a performance in another venue, including Mitchell Hall or even off campus concerts (listed as MusicOther).

Your recital date will be confirmed by the Scheduling Coordinator as soon as possible.

Recitals may be held in any Music Department venue:

  • Bayard Sharp Hall
  • Gore Recital Hall
  • Loudis Recital Hall
  • Puglisi Orchestra Hall

Recitals should be scheduled between the first and last day of class in the semester which you are registered. Recitals cannot take place during finals week or after the semester has ended.

Rescheduling

Rescheduling your recital should be avoided except in very unusual and extreme situations. Thorough planning and advance preparation should reduce the need to reschedule recitals in nearly all situations. If you absolutely must reschedule a recital, contact the Scheduling Coordinator (Sharon Whetham) immediately. The Department will attempt to accommodate your needs, but we cannot guarantee success.

After September 30 for the fall semester or February 28 for the spring semester, no events can be scheduled or rescheduled in the last three weeks of the semester.

If you are attempting to reschedule a recital without success, you may take your recital off campus with the authorization of your Studio Teacher but will no longer receive any department support.
