Instruments are available for rental through the scheduling coordinator and assigned on a priority basis, e.g., Music Education students in methods classes, ensembles, private study, etc. In the case of specialty instruments, faculty must approve rental through e-mail to the coordinator.
Instrument Rental Contracts prepared by the coordinator and signed by students are kept on record until the instrument is returned as indicated on the contract.
The instrument and all accessories must be returned in the condition they were assigned (less normal wear and tear) and within the deadline specified on the contract.
Failure to return the instrument or accessories by the date specified will result in a hold on the students’ records, which will prohibit them from registering for future coursework or receiving transcripts.
If necessary, the full replacement value of the instrument and/or accessories will be charged to the student’s account.
A student may rent the instrument beyond the contract date by signing a new contract.
