Recording and Technology Performance Policies as of April 2024
Students wishing to have their recital recorded by the School of Music, a University approved vendor, or on their own must complete the Recording Agreement section of the Event Worksheet and submit it to [email protected] three weeks prior to their recital date.
LIVE STREAMING & VIDEO RECORDING
All UD School of Music recitals and performances with tech crew present will be live streamed at no cost to the performer or organizer of the event. This includes: Student Recitals, Faculty Recitals, Guest Artist Recitals, Large Ensemble Performances, and SOM Sponsored Graduate Chamber Ensembles.
Tech Crew will not be present at studio recitals, single-instrument ensembles (such as Clarinet Ensemble), rep classes or other performances of this sort.
Performers, organizers and/or guest artists can opt out of live streaming by informing the tech crew on site before the performance begins. Performances that are live streamed will have the static, live-streamed video file recorded at no cost.
Within 72 hours, organizer (scheduler of event) will get raw, unedited live-streamed video file uploaded to UD Dropbox by event staff. UD Dropbox links are available only good for 21 days. Video recordings will not be archived in the School of Music, and video recordings will be purged after 7 days.
AUDIO RECORDING
Students having recitals can opt in to having the SOM audio record their recital for a fee of $75. Student audio recording package includes a final edited high-quality audio recording delivered via UD Dropbox. All attempts will be made to distribute edited material within 3 weeks, but during busy times at the end of each semester delivery of the final product will take considerably longer.
TECH SUPPORT FOR PERFORMANCES
Students requiring technical support at their recitals must make requests at least three weeks in advance using SOM Event Worksheets and clearly communicating with Event Staff. The fee for technical support at student recitals is $75 and includes coverage at the final performance and one dress rehearsal.
All policies must be followed and all paperwork completed to help protect you, the department and the University from copyright risk issues.
